Fourth in the Akca Network side track

In one bite: 49 projects, ten places, and a bread roll in fourth. Our reporter now browses through a tunnel.
FLORIANÓPOLIS, November 5, 2026. Brot Markets took fourth place out of 49 projects in the Akca Network side track of the Crypto World's Fair, the Colosseum hackathon of September and October 2026, according to the winners list on Superteam Earn. Akca Network, supported by Superteam Türkiye, builds AkcaVPN, a private connection for people who work on the move. Its track was for Crypto World's Fair teams that work remotely, travel to events and handle wallets, keys or user funds. The first five places get 500 USDG each in AkcaVPN credits, and the next five 200.
The judges weighed three things: how much a team needs a private connection, a believable plan to keep building after the hackathon, and the quality of the project itself. Brot shared the result on X the same afternoon.
Baked learned what a VPN is this morning. By lunch he had switched on travel mode and posed in front of Pãozinho, a boulangerie and a パン屋. He has been to none of them. He then asked whether the credits could be spent at any of the three. They cannot.
Why a bakery needs a tunnel
Brot was born at The/Garage in São Paulo, presented at the IslandDAO demo day in Florianópolis and is in closed beta now, so the team works from wherever the next conversation is. No one's opinion decides a campaign: the chain reads the answer from an account. But the people who build the program hold keys, and the keys travel with them.
"We build in public, but our keys don't travel in public," says kogepan, COO and CLO of Brot Markets. "A team that ships from hackathon Wi-Fi needs a private line. Thank you to Akca Network and Superteam Türkiye, and congratulations to the nine other teams."
What's next
Closed beta now; the mainnet launch date comes right after the code audit. The first creators come in through Levain, the founding-creators program. The credits arrive as a key that must be redeemed within six months. Baked wrote the deadline on a napkin and then used the napkin.
Correction
An earlier version of this story said Brot won 500 USDG. Brot won 500 USDG in AkcaVPN credits, which are not cash and cannot be transferred. Baked found this out at the counter, holding a croissant.
