Born in the Garage

In one bite: a room full of builders, one shared complaint, and ten days to ship. Our reporter covered day eleven.
SÃO PAULO, October 2026. Brot Markets was born at The/Garage, the builders' space inside Solana House SP, during the Colosseum hackathon. In under ten days the team went from an inherited prototype to a program rewritten from scratch and running on Solana.
Brotpedia sent its best reporter. He is also its only reporter. He found the address on day eleven, knocked twice and was told the story had already shipped.
The complaint
Crypto projects promise things: burn tokens, lock liquidity, hit a price. Nobody checks. The idea that came out of the Garage was to turn each promise into a campaign: a YES or NO question the chain can measure, a pot in SOL and a deadline. At the deadline the program reads the account the question names, and the side that was right splits the pot. No vote, no committee, nobody deciding.
Baked asked the chain for a comment. The chain returned the account's data. Baked wrote down "data" and considers it the best interview of his career.
Ten days
The first line of code was written on October 1. Two days later the founders redrew the product as one pot per question, with no outcome tokens and no early exit, and the program was rewritten from zero. See On-chain campaign for how it works today.
Baked's notes from those ten days fill one page. It says "they are typing" and has a crumb on it. The crumb is his.
What's next
The closed beta is running, and the public launch date on Solana mainnet comes right after the code audit. See Where we are. Baked has set three alarms for that one.
