Live at the IslandDAO house

In one bite: one pitch, one onboarding, one campaign opened live, and a room full of questions. Our reporter asked none of them. He was eating.
FLORIANÓPOLIS, November 5, 2026. At 12:30 today the Brot Markets team presented to the IslandDAO house in Florianópolis, in front of everyone staying for the event. It came in three parts: the pitch, an onboarding made for the house, and a live demo of the platform.
The pitch
Bernardo, CEO, opened with the pitch. Its first slide described Brot as "a permissionless, open marketplace for onchain creator campaigns", in three steps: open for free, earn on every entry, level up.
The onboarding
Then kogepan, COO and CLO, took the guests through Brot's closed beta step by step, on his own screen: joining the Discord, the verify, how to send a report when something breaks, and how to put a wallet on the whitelist for Levain, the founding-creators program, whose members open their first campaigns for free.
The demo
Ronaldo, CTO, closed with the demo of the new version of the platform: he opened a campaign on the spot and walked the room through how it works, from the question to the moment the chain reads the answer and the pot is split.
"Of course we had some issues," the team admitted afterwards in its Baked Report on X, tagged #BuildInPublic. It is a closed beta, and a closed beta is where things are supposed to break in front of friends.
The questions
The room was a participative one, and most questions were about integrating: how a project or a community connects to Brot, and how IslandDAO itself could open a campaign about its own goals, for example on how many people turn up at the events of its next edition, v6.
Baked has a rule for this, the only one he remembers: the chain has to hold the answer. A count kept in a spreadsheet cannot settle a campaign; a count the chain can read, like the supply of a token every guest mints at the door, can. He then tried to mint himself at the door. The door was not on-chain.
"The best part was the questions," says kogepan. "People here are not asking what Brot is anymore, they are asking how to plug their own community into it. That is the conversation we came to Florianópolis for."
Thanks
To IslandDAO for the room, the TV and the patience, and to @SuperteamBR, who keep backing the Brazilian builders who keep showing up here. Follow the rest as it happens under #BuildInPublic.
What's next
Closed beta now; the mainnet launch date comes right after the code audit. Baked has asked for a seat in the front row next time. He was offered the sofa again.
Correction
An earlier version of this story said the demo went perfectly. It did not, and the team said so first. Baked has apologised to the bugs for leaving them out.
